Full Description

"Summer House"and trees shown on Sanderson 1835, further north than extent of present grounds. House 1792, listed grade II, also garden house with stable and garden wall. (1)
Throsby describes the Rev Beaumont's house, recently built "on a site well chosen. The diversified ground on the other side of the Trent, sinking with a gentle stoop, as that on this, seen at an easy distance from his pleasure garden, and the silvery Trent passing between, form a delightful landscape. The foliage at hand is a pretty enbellishment to the scene." (3)
See M10086 for "The Hill".
