Summary

A single day's fieldwalking following excavation produced principally pottery sherds but also included flint, glass, metal, shell, stone and brick. Finds dated from Roman to post-medieval with the vast majority from the post-medieval period.

Full Description

A single day's episode of fieldwalking across the field in which the monument stands. This was carried out in 10m intervals. Finds were principally pottery sherds but also included flint, glass, metal, shell, stone and brick. The pottery distribution was … between those of Roman date, early medieval shelly wares, other medieval fabrics and ones of post-medieval date. One exceptional find was a jetton, found at some distance from the monument. (1)
