A circular stone-built kiln occupying a keyhole-shaped construction cut, cut into natural on the south bank of the large channel. Built of roughly shaped limestone blocks bonded with clay and survived to a height of six courses. Environmental samples contained lime rich deposits. Considerable quantities of mortar and plaster would have been required during the construction of the nearby villa buildings. (1)
