Full Description

Linear feature seen in Area 1 geophysics. Marks the line of an old field boundary seen on first edition OS mapping.
Trench 4. A large nw-se aligned ditch with a single homogeneous fill suggesting a period of rapid backfilling. No indication of a bank. A single sherd of 13th century pottery was recovered. (1)
Possible boundary ditch of King John's Palace.
