Full Description

24 charcoal laden pits similar to ones excavated during previous years. All these recent ones were close to circular and ranging from 0.55m to 1.75m in diameter. 13 were excavated. No dating evidence. Could be agrarian or industrial. Nothing of the Roman period was found on this latest block of land. One possible prehistoric pit containing heat-cracked pebbles and 2 sherds of indeterminate handmade pottery. (1)
