Full Description
The anomalies are aligned oblique to the orientation of the current pattern of field division and are interpreted as soil-filled ditches forming a system of field division and enclosure which pre-dates the current layout. At the northern end of the property, in field 1, parallel linear anomalies aligned broadly NW-SE probably locates a trackway (defined by ditches on either side) with rectangular enclosures extending west and east of this trackway. The anomalies fade within the south of field 1, reappearing across the north of field 6. The field system becomes less well defined through the central part of the PDA but is clearly defined again at the southern end of site, in fields 9 to 13, where the overal pattern is clearly discerned.
