Full Description

Two-storey brick stable block that is detached, but adjacent to the mill house to the west. Constructed before 1846 and possibly dates to the construction of the mill in the late 18th Century. Comprises stables, store room and sty enclosures within the main block, with stables/shelter shed along the east side with the single-storey section. The first floor level is divided into two spaces and currently accessed via a ladder in the centre space, presumable in use as a hayloft/storeā€¦ The existing fabric and layout, despite the loss of the original early extension at the northwest corner, appears to be largely intact to the building footprint indicated in 1846. Considered to be of considerable significance in terms of its evidential value for its long term practical associations with the adjacent mill and its overall intact form and fabric. (1)
