Full Description

Pottery: 87 sherds: 3 Romano-British, 7 Medieval, 1 Late medieval/Early Post Medieval, 57 Post Medieval, 18 Early Modern+, 1 undiagnostic.

Ceramic Building Material: 286 pieces were collected. No Roman material was identified, 5 medieval tiles were confirmed, including 1 glazed ridge tile, and another 11 sherds are possible medieval tiles. 27% of the material was coded as RTMISC meaning that no diagnostic dating could be made. Other material consisted of brick, pantile, roof tiles and drain fragments.

Clay Tobacco Pipe: 3 stems (1 early 18th, 2 modern).

Flint: 1 tool recovered.

Glass: 4 modern glass fragments.

Miscellaneous Finds: 25 miscellaneous items were collected, including 2 shell fragments, 1 bird bone, 2 animal teeth (possibly sheep or pig), 8 slag fragments, 2 roofing slate fragments, 8 metal items (various nails and fastenings) and 2 miscellaneous pieces of stone (1 a honing stone and 1 dressed building stone with mortar). These items were discarded.
