Full Description

A pit which cut through the southern limit of cobbled path. Pottery from twenty-seven vessels included a range of Humberware and South Yorkshire jugs and jars, as well as a Cistercian ware cup. This group can be dated to between the mid 15th and mid 16th centuries. Two small fragments of handmade brick of late medieval to early post-medieval type, two pieces of fired clay and a flat roof tile of mid 12th to 14th century date also came from this feature.
