Full Description

Two pits were both approximately the same size, were sub-circular in plan (c. 1.50m x 1.00m) and were filled by dark greyish brown sandy silts which contained frequent charcoal flecks but no artefacts or datable material. These features may represent rubbish pits associated with the agricultural activity on the site used to dispose of organic waste material which has subsequently decomposed.
