Full Description
Roman coins: eight in total, comprising five from the 4th century AD, four of which were identifiably from the Magnentius period (AD 350 - 353). The other three coins were barbarous radiates from the mid - to late 3rd century AD. Also found was a Roman brooch fragment of the 1st - 2nd century AD.
Non-Roman finds: From the 14th and 15th century an Edward III half groat (1351/2), a spur buckle, a clasp fastener, and a lead weight of standard design with integral loop was found. From the 16th to 18th century there were numerous coins, including an Elizabeth I silver 3d (1582) and 6d (1567), a Charles II silver 3d (1660-1662), William III farthing and 6d (1695-1699), and many low denomination coins of Georges I, II and III (1723-1807).
