Full Description

Towards the centre of the trench was sub-circular pit, measuring 0.6m long and 0.55m wide. This was filled by light greyish brown silty sand with mottled yellow patches. Two sherds of Romano-British greyware were retrieved from a fill deposit. An environmental sample revealed the presence of charcoal fragments and charred cereal grain, which may represent hearth waste.
