Full Description

A very shallow, roughly circular pit was located to the north of the enclosures. This pit contained the articulated skeleton of a juvenile dog, excluding the skull and pelvis which had possibly been removed by cultivation. Two sherds of medieval pottery were recovered from the fill of the pit.

The backfill of the pit contained two small medieval sherds which are insufficient to give any more than an earliest possible date for the burial. The dog was probably from a medium-sized, gracile breed.
