Full Description

A pit was located in the north-facing section of the southern edge of site with a width of 1.24m and depth of 0.90m. This contained four fills; -an upper, a mid-dark grey compacted silt clay; a mid-dark grey sand silt with charcoal mottling; a light grey-brown coarse- grained sand silt with charcoal flecks and a primary fill, a mid orange-brown compacted slit clay with occasional charcoal mottling. This feature was undated but most likely a later intrusion into the underlying bank material.
