Full Description

Two-storeys. Ground floor comprises of brickwork walls and piers with clay tile roof. (1)
The drawings from the structural survey by Jackson Consulting show: South elevation now has 6 garage opening with steel lintels (which presumably obliterated the original decorative brick band which must surely have run round the front elevation which faced the house), above are timber horizontal multi-pane sashes under segmental arches. There is a central gabled projection breaking the line of the eaves in the style typical of stable architecture of the time. The east gable end has an oval garret window above a decorative brick course, below which is a hay door accessed by external stairs. A second decorative brick band runs between the ground and first floor. The west gable end has a continuation of the decorative banding and an oval garret window and small first floor opening. The gables are coped and have kneelers. The north elevation has 6 regularly spaced vents and decorative brick band. The decorative treatment, regular vents and hay doors suggest the building's original function was as a stable, with storage and possibly grooms' accommodation to the first floor. Later converted to garaging. (2)
