Full Description

The earliest phase of construction (still standing on the site), probably of C18 date, is represented by a stone-built stable and remnants of masonry walls in the inn. Probably in the early C19 the inn was rebuilt with brick. Further ranges were added and removed during the C19, several of which are recorded appearing and later disappearing from a sequence of historic maps of the site. A new stable block was built in the 1880s-90s and several further additions were made to the inn in the early and mid C20. (1)
