Monument record MNT29048 - The City Ground

Summary

The City Ground, home of Nottingham Forest Football Club since September 1898, redeveloped from the 1950s to 1980. The ground replaced the earlier Town Ground, a few hundred yards across the river. The East, or Executive stand was opened in 1977 by Brian Clough and replaced an earlier structure built in 1957. The main stand was rebuilt in 1968 following a fire. The Trent End was rebuilt in 1994 following the Taylor Report's recommendation for all-seater stadia. The Bridgeford End was rebuilt in 1992.

Full Description

The City Ground. Home to Nottingham Forest F.C. since 1898. Unchanged from then until the 1950s, and subsequently redeveloped up to 1980, when the new East or Executive stand opened. (3)
