Full Description

Brewery founded in 1855 by William Bailey, Samuel Hage and John Watson trading as Mansfield Brewery Company. Watson sold out in 1856 and by 1873 a new partnership had been created. By 1885 William Jackson Chadburn had joined the partnership and had become the dominant partner. Chadburn died in 1922 and in 1925 the brewery was trading as Mansfield Brewery Company Limited.

The brewery expanded in 1971 and in 1999 was taken over by Wolverhampton and Dudley Breweries. The brewery closed in early 2002. Part of the site and buildings have been converted in to a heritage centre, and the brewery headquarters are in office use, known as Chadburn House.

Planning permission was granted in February 2004 for redevelopment of the remainder of the site into office and residential use. Much of the site was demolished in 2008. (1) (2) (3)
