Full Description

Middle BA palstave with side flanges, stop ridge and loop, dredged from R Trent in 1937. Now in NWM. (1) (2)
From the river near Nicholson's Foundry. Presented by Clive Nicholson. (3) (4)
Nicholson's Foundry has now been demolished. The river is under fairly constant dredging at the indicated site of find. (5)
Early, Group III, Type Carleton, Taunton, MBA. Length 163mm, cutting edge 69mm. Side flanges, stop ridge, loop and mid rib. Pitted surface, damaged cutting edge. Brown, with bronze colour showing where worn. (6)
