Full Description

While digging drainage trenches on the Burns Lane Glebe estate building site in 1973, a hoard of Ro coins was found at a depth of 2ft contained in a pot, by G Spinks, 156 Elmton Road, Creswell. The hoard comprised 341 coins of the C3 and C4 with many of Constantine the Great. Some were discoloured but most were in good condition. The coins are to be examined by the BM. (1)
A Ro coin hoard, consisting of 314 Constantinian silver plated folles, (AD 306-340) was found inside the remains of a pot, in construction works at Eastwood's building site. The hoard was approx 2ft-2.5ft below ground level below 18in of topsoil. (5)
NB some confusion over TPAT number.
