Full Description

Cropmarks of a field 1.8Ha in area and a number of field boundaries from 110.0 to 150.0m apart, S of Bishopfield Farm, between SK 650880 and SK 650885 (apparently forming part of the same "brickwork" field system to the N - L 4880). A boundary formed by parallel ditches 8.0m apart is about the same distance as between the hedges in the nearby lane. (1)
Trench for water main along Great North Road. No evidence of the (brickwork plan field boundary) was visible in the trench section at this point.… either due to the constraints on observation of the narrow trench or truncation of features during the construction of the road. (2)
See L 4884 - continuation to W, L 4883 - cropmarks to N, L 4886 - to E, L 4887 - to NE. See SMR map - SK 68 NW and NE.
