Full Description

A series of earthworks occupy 3 pasture fields to the S of Stanbord Lane and parallel with the Great North Road. A number of low parallel E-W ridges and hollows are probably the last vestiges of ridge and furrow encroached upon by the modern road line. E of these a number of irregular intermittent banks may represent spoil from the excavation and cleaning of the field drain marking the E boundary of this group of fields. (1)
