An earthwork, comprising a linear bank running SW-NE, lies to the S of and approximately parallel to the Laneham-Church Laneham road. E of the flood defences the bank is low and broad (c 3-4m wide); W of the flood defences it is narrower and steeper. It appears to be overlain by the flood defences; it may perhaps be an earlier flood bank protecting the road or, where raised to the E, the causeway of a former road line. (1)
