Full Description

Approx SK 525 345. Potsherd, a large piece of rim and body, indicates a bowl of "Mortlake" variety. Mace made from the base of a red deer antler. Gouge or chisel, also of red deer antler. Also at Attenborough there have been found an axe of epidotized tuff from Langdale, a flat oblong-shaped mace head of black basalt with an hour-glass perforation, and a polished flint axe. (1) Two potsherds and the two antler artefacts held in NUM, accession nos. Att0.374, Att78.27 and Att66.80. (3)
Found in Attenborough gravel pit, by Mr H Martin in 1954 - 2 stone pestles, late Neo/BA. (2)
