Abstract/Summary
Report on stages 1.1 and 1.2 of a scheme of archaeological evaluation on land at Bole Ings for National Power prior to development of a new fuel ash storage facility adjacent to West Burton Power Station. Stage 1.1 was a walkover survey and site inspection which found no new areas of archaeological interest. Stage 1.2 was fieldwalking and artefact collection. Areas of six fields were sampled. Artefacts recovered were mainly modern with a small number of Roman pottery sherds. There was no indication of centres of past human activity.
