Abstract/Summary

Report on a desk-based assessment and a field survey conducted by AMEC in 2009 to assess the impact of refurbishment of the overhead line between West Burton and Cottam power stations. 7 out of the 26 towers were assessed as having potential for significant impact on buried archaeological remains during the works. The field survey recorded extant ridge and furrow and earthworks that were visible in fields near Sturton-le-Steeple.
