Abstract/Summary
An archaeological watching brief was carried out on land at 65-67 Potter Street, Worksop, Nottinghamshire.
The site lies within an area of archaeological importance within the settlement core of Worksop.
The ground-works consisted of the excavation of a new soak-away at the northern part of the site and the subsequent ground reduction on the southern part of the site prior to piling. The ground-works were associated with the construction of 10 one bedroom apartments on the site. The excavation of the soak-away at the northern end of the site revealed that the site largely consisted of re-deposited soil, rubble and sand. Below this lay a peat-like material and clay substratum.
No archaeological features or finds associated with archaeological features were revealed during the watching brief.
