Abstract/Summary

An archaeological desk based assessment of land due to be developed was conducted at Westhouse Farm to the north of Bestwood Village, Nottinghamshire. The site comprises approximately 24.5 hectares of farmland with the ruined remains of Westhouse Farm at the centre. The desk based assessment demonstrated that there are no known designated heritage assets or non designated heritage assets within the proposed redevelopment area. However, aerial photographs reveal a small number of cropmarks within the area of proposed redevelopment area including two parallel linear features, a possible trackway and a former field boundary.
