Abstract/Summary
An assessment of the Archaeology and Cultural Heritage potential of a site to the north of Skegby Lane, Mansfield was prepared.
The desk-based assessment has been able to identify only a small archaeological potential, although this cannot preclude the possibility of there being as yet undiscovered artefacts. However the hedgerow separating the site into two fields can be defined as Important Hedgerows following the 1997 Hedgerows Regulations as it appear to predate the 1855 enclosure awards.
A walkover survey was undertaken in April 2013 to examine the area. Particular attention was paid to the current land use of all parts of the site and the likely effect on the condition of any buried archaeological remains. There were no visible signs are archaeology.
The report contains a map regression exercise, historic drawings and photos of the site
