17 core samples were obtained from the building and cross-matched with each other. 3 of them remained undated. Four groups (sequences) of samples were identified. First sequence: first ring dated 1389 and last dated 1470. The date of the average last heartwood ring is 1461 and gives a felling date range of 1476 to 1511 (estimated 1491). Second sequence: first ring dated 1410 and last dated 1474. Average last heartwood is 1469. Felling date range of 1484 to 1519 (estimated 1499). Third sequence: first ring dated 1330 and last dated 1460. Average last heartwood is 1439. Felling date range of 1461 to 1489 (estimated 1469). Fourth and final sequence: first ring dated 1391 and last dated 1590. Average last heartwood is 1587. Felling date range of 1602 to 1637 (estimated 1617). Although the four sequences have overlapping date spans the cross-matching between them is very poor. This possibly indicates that the timber used here came from 3 or perhaps even 4 different sources.
