Title A Note on the Petrology of some Late Iron Age Sherds fom Gamston, Notitnghamshire
Author/Originator
Date/Year 1992

Abstract/Summary

Seven sherds of late Iron Age pottery were thin sectioned, and the inclusions were examined. Two sherds were identified as being imports to the site, as the igneous inclusions do not fit with the geology of the Gamston area. The fabric resembles certain granitic tempered Anglo-Saxon pottery of the West Midlands, thought to derive from the Charnwood Forest area.
