Title Archaeological Evaluation Report: Trial Trenching on Land off Yorke Drive, Newark, Nottinghamshire
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2021

Abstract/Summary

An archaeological evaluation by trial trenching was undertaken on land off Yorke Drive, Newark, Nottinghamshire, as a condition of planning permission for a residential development. There is potential for prehistoric remains in this area of the Trent Valley but the site lies to the northeast of the centre of Newark and the likelihood for other archaeological remains is low. A geophysical survey of the site identified few features of interest. The evaluation trenching comprised seven 50m x 1.8m trenches. No archaeological finds, features or deposits were identified.
