Title Archaeological attendance on land to the rear of the Nevile Arms Public House, Main Street, Kinoulton, Nottinghamshire
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2017

Abstract/Summary

Archaeological attendance and recording was undertaken during groundworks on land to the rear of the Nevile Arms Public House, Main Street, Kinoulton, Nottinghamshire. The archaeological work was required as a condition of the planning consent for the erection of two new dwellings on the site, a former play area. The site lies within the historic core of the village and close to undated village earthworks. The village has Anglo-Saxon origins and has shrunk and migrated over time. No archaeological features or finds were identified or recovered from the trenches, although as the foundation trenches had been excavated and filled with concrete prior to the visit this was not conductive to the identification of archaeological features.
