---|---|
Author/Originator | Iain Pringle |
Date/Year | 2022 |
Abstract/Summary
An archaeological evaluation took place from 8th August to 16th August 2022. The aim of the work was to identify, investigate and record any archaeological remains within the proposed development area. The archaeological work was undertaken as a condition of planning consent for residential development on the site.
A geophysical survey of the site detected several features of an uncertain but possible archaeological origin. During the trial trenching, no archaeological features were observed in any of the trenches. A number of possible features were investigated and were found to be of natural origin. Several sherds of modern pottery were present within the ploughsoil and subsoil layers but were not retained.
