Abstract/Summary
An archaeological evaluation comprising the mechanical excavation of a singlearchaeological trial trench was undertaken prior to the proposed construction of a new storage shed on land at Elston Lodge Farm, Lodge Lane, Elston, Nottinghamshire.
This archaeological field assessment did not identify any archaeological activity on this proposed development site and there were no finds.
The findings from this archaeological evaluation consisted of a site deposit sequence, which comprised a modern compacted yard surface that was made up of modern hardcore, which overlay an underlying natural horizon of reddish clay, which extended to the base of the excavations. This deposit sequence was recorded within one representative section.
