A possible Iron Age settlement is recorded approximately 900m north-west of the site. A Bronze Age axe has been found approximately 600m south of the site. There are no recorded monuments within the site boundary, however Sanderson's map of 1835 shows a bridge structure over the stream in the north-west of the site. The detailed magnetic gradiometer survey conducted at Woodborough has not identified anyanomalies that have been characterised as being either of a probable or possible archaeological origin.
