Abstract/Summary
A programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was carried out during a solar farm development on land off Old Rufford Road, Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire. This was because the site lay within an area of archaeological interest close to cropmarks of enclosures and ditches. Although undated, these may be prehistoric or Roman. Geophysical survey identified one of the probable boundaries in the western part of the site along with a cluster of other ditches and pit-like features in the northwestern part of the site.
However, the monitoring revealed only a sequence of topsoil and natural deposits.
No finds were retrieved during the investigation.
