Abstract/Summary
A programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken during groundworks for a new swimming pool and associated facilities at Beech Tree Cottage, Cromwell, Nottinghamshire.
The site is archaeologically sensitive, lying in an area of significant cropmarks and close to the site of a Roman villa, a Scheduled Monument.
The investigation revealed a sequence of natural, subsoil and topsoil deposits with no archaeological features being identified and no finds recovered.
