Abstract/Summary
A programme of evaluation trenching was undertaken on land consisting of two fields to the south of Costock Road, East Leake, Nottinghamshire in advance of a proposed residential development.
The only identified features in eight excavated trenches were north-south aligned furrows in two trenches, which roughly correspond with parallel linear anomalies identified by geophysical survey. These furrows are likely to have been formed by medieval or post-medieval agricultural activity on the site.
No artefactual evidence was recovered during the archaeological works.
