Abstract/Summary

An archaeological evaluation was undertaken on a land at Broomhill Lane, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. This was to determine the archaeological implications in advance of proposed residential development. Ten trenches were excavated to evaluate the archaeological potential of the site. The evaluation identified a sequence of a geological level formed by pinkish orange silt and clay mixed with rounded pebbles. All the excavated trenches did not reveal archaeological evidences but only the activity related to the modern use of this land for allotments with pits, postholes filled by the topsoil mixed with modern finds.
