Title | Land at OK Diner, Cromwell, Newark, Nottinghamshire: Geophysical Survey |
---|---|
Author/Originator | Alistair Webb, Ross Bishop |
Date/Year | 2022 |
Abstract/Summary
Geophyiscal survey covering approximately 2.2 hectares, on land adjacent to the OK Diner, Cromwell, near Newark. The survey has identified anomalies consistent with modern activity (service pipes) and agricultural activity (ridge and furrow cultivation) across the survey area. No anomalies of definite archaeological origin have been recorded by the survey. Based on the survey results a previously identified cropmark recorded on the Nottinghamshire HER within the PDA and interpreted as an enclosure is more likely to be due to services/pipes possibly associated with a former petrol station which previously occupied the site.
