This report presents the results of a pilot study to measure the impact of construction activities (the construction of a road embankment) on buried deposits and its likely effects on an assemblage of Late Upper Palaeolithic artefact bearing soils that are to be preserved in-situ. Data gathered at the construction stage was insufficient to fully understand or adequately measure the likely impacts, but valuable data was gathered and experience gained as a result of the monitoring. Recommendations are put forward to ensure that in the future the monitoring methodology will be more robust.
