Date/Year | 2013 |
Abstract/Summary
Archaeological monitoring and recording was carried out during the stripping and excavation of foundation trenches for the construction of twelve houses on the former farmyard of Manor Farm, Gotham, Nottinghamshire.
The development site lies in an area of potential archaeological importance adjacent to the medieval core of the village, and once part of the manorial grounds. Despite this potential, no significant archaeology was discovered pre-dating the early modern period, excluding a single abraded sherd of un-provenanced Roman grey ware pottery.
