Abstract/Summary
A magnetometer survey of land at Abbott Road, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire has not recorded any magnetic responses that could be interpreted as being of definite archaeological interest.
Numerous uncertain anomalies have been recorded which are likely to be due to modern processes. A former field boundary and modern ploughing has also been detected plus the route of a service pipe has been plotted. Strong ferrous responses and zones of magnetic disturbance throughout the data plot have been caused by spreads of debris and/or foundations from the former Hall Barn, school and playing fields that were once located on the site.
