Date/Year 2024

Abstract/Summary

A scheme of archaeological evaluation trenching within the Phase 7 area of works of the Fairham Pastures development, to the south of the town of Clifton in the Borough of Rushcliffe in Nottinghamshire. Archaeological investigation in advance of development in previous phases has recorded evidence of occupation from the later prehistoric period to the Romano-British period, including probable Iron Age and Romano-British settlements, a Romano-British pottery kiln, a cremation cemetery of probable Bronze Age date and long-distance landscape boundaries dating from the Neolithic period onwards. Of the eight trenches excavated, all were archaeologically negative. No archaeological finds were recovered.
