Abstract/Summary
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken on land at Vision West College, Ashfield House, Chesterfield Road South, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, NG19 7BB.
The Development is located to the rear of Vision West College, off Chesterfield Road and is approximately 0.63ha. The land is currently occupied by a carpark and an old part of the college, which is to be demolished.
The evaluation was originally set to be comprised of three trenches each measuring 30m in length, this was however reduced to two trenches due to logistical issues, and to avoid buried services.
No deposits of archaeological significance were encountered throughout the evaluation. Therefore, the evaluation has shown that the development will have a negligible impact upon archaeological remains.
