Abstract/Summary
An archaeological monitoring was undertaken on land at the Threshing Barn East, Church Lane, Lowdham, Nottinghamshire.
The development is approximately 0.13ha. The land is currently occupied by the existing dwelling and greenfield.
The archaeological monitoring comprised of the reduction of ground level to a depth where a concrete ‘raft’ foundation plinth will be installed.
To the south of the development area, there was evidence of post-medieval walls and floors likely associated with the building’s former use as a threshing barn were encountered throughout the works. Therefore, the archaeological monitoring has shown that the development will have a moderate impact upon archaeological remains.
