Title Geophysical Survey Report: Crococolana Roman Town, Brough, Nottinghamshire
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2017

Abstract/Summary

A combined magnetometer, earth resistance and ground penetrating radar survey was conducted over approximately 300m² of grassland, in the grounds of Brough Methodist Church. No definite archaeological responses have been detected, however responses in both the resistance and radar data may relate to stone or brick remains, including a possible small section of wall. Some of the smaller discrete responses could relate to graves associated with the Methodist church, though their exact origin cannot be determined with confidence. Several responses of uncertain origin have been detected in all three datasets and could relate to archaeological remains or be of modern or natural origin.
