Abstract/Summary
A Historic Environment Desk-Based Assessment (Archaeology and Built Heritage) was undertaken for Ashfield School, Sutton Road, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, NG17 8HP.
This report is a high-level appraisal required to inform Department of Education plans for the potential redevelopment of the Project Site.
There is some potential for archaeology dating to the Post-Medieval period in the form of the remains of Ash Farm identified on the First Edition Ordnance Survey Map and some possible mining heritage.
Future development of the Project Site is not expected to impact on the single Listed Building within the Study Area.
