Abstract/Summary
An archaeological excavation expanding an area identified during the previous evaluation was undertaken, which contained fragments of an inhumation. This is relating to a planning application for development of a Solar Farm and Battery Storage Facility with associated infrastructure. The site is located to the west of the A620 west of Saundby, and south of Beckingham.
The work was carried out between the 19th February and 22nd February 2024.
A 0.1 hectare L-shaped trench uncovered six early medieval burials radiocarbon dated from the 6th to 8th centuries AD, located with a small enclosure, likely associated with a rural settlement.
